Samantha was born and raised in Winnipeg Manitoba to a family who loved dogs, and has a thick history with hunting dogs from spaniels to labradors. Raised with Golden retrievers there was never a shortage of dog hair in her life. Samanthas dog training start was by her fathers side as he trained his beloved Golden Retrievers through the Stanley Coren methods via good old fashioned VHS tapes. After the passing of her fathers last Golden, her Mother started to raise and take an interest in confirmation showing. As a teenager Sam was exposed to the world of confirmation and learning of the breed standards of pure bred dogs. The family later moved to Calgary where Sam has the opportunity to rescue a very fearful shut down German shepherd mix. With careful training and patience Sam got to develop  a wonderful little running companion that she would enjoy right through collage. Sam graduated collage as a VTA from Calgary and went on to work in many veterinary practises around the city. With a wealth of animal knowledge, fast forward a few more years. John and Sam get married and move out to beautiful Sparwood. With Ruby needing a groom and no one in the valley knowing how to do it this gave the opportunity for Sam to develop further and she became a certified dog groomer and opened up shop for the next five years. Really understanding the importance of training and behaviour in dog breeds all of this sculpted the way for Sam to become interested in dog sports. After the tragic death of her beloved Dalmatian due to a genetic condition Sam learnt the painful lesson of the importance of genetic testing. Samantha was looking for a breed that wasn't common and has as little genetic health troubles as possible. The Dutch Shepherd was the ticket. another year later she found Sting. Not only did she find Sting she found the world of IGP and sport dogs. The rest continues to be written history...
