Ruby was Johns heart dog and of course she was a wirehaired pointing griffon. Dogs is a passion of both John and Sam. We knew that we wanted to raise dogs in the correct way and for the right reasons. The breeds we raise are truly as unique as each of us.

Dutch Shepherds!
When Sam was a teenager her mother bred pugs. Sam was very much involved in helping with the responsibility of having breeding dogs from a young age. Raising dogs was a love of hers from the very start! As an adult Samantha showed and raised Pembroke Welsh Corgis and enjoyed the breed and still enjoys having our old sassy female around to this day. " I wanted a bigger corgi!" The health limitations and physical limitations of the Corgi are quite extensive. Dog sports is something that Sam has captivated her attention and the high level obedience that is trained in IGP Schutzhund along with the practical elements of tracking was something she wanted to get into. Matching the right breed with the dream was the task at hand. After the tragic death of her heart dog a Dalmatian at the age of two due to a genetic predisposition was at the centre of her mind. "I needed a sound dog genetically" This search led right to the Dutch Shepherd. This breed fit everything she was looking for and known competitor of the IGP Dog Sport.

Johns love for wirehaired pointing griffons started well over a decade ago. When he moved back to Canada from the United States he wanted a dog of his own. His parents only stipulation was that it could not shed. John wanted an active medium sized dog that could go for hikes in the mountains and keep up on his weekend spent on the family farm. The Griff fit the bill perfectly. Ruby will always be Johns first girl she was his side kick in life as he went through collage and started working after collage in Lethbridge Alberta. When John and Sam met and started a life together Ruby kept right on pace with the wonderful addition and Ruby's favourite part was the KIDS! Ruby watched over those babies with such care and love ensuring they never fell off the couch without her body breaking their fall. Ruby set the standard for our breeding program today. Her bloodline is linked to our Reuben that is also a huge Daddy's boy today.
