Dutch Shepherds where originally bred for herding sheep and livestock on the farm!  Their gait is more of a float to watch across the ground. They are more commonly used today by Military and Police services for scent detection, search and rescue. The Dutch is not a recognized breed by the Canadian Kennel Club but it is how ever by the AKC. The Dutch Shepherd is a dog with high energy and big drives! meaning this dog should demonstrate outstanding desire to hunt and chase prey and work for a food reward. Desires such as these make the Dutch Shepherd outstanding to train. They are eager to make you happy and be an outstanding loyal companion. Female Dutch shepherds stay on the smaller end of around 60 pounds with the males easily reaching 70 plus pounds. They are classified as a medium sized dog with a whither height of 22- 24 inches. From personal experience a Dutch Shepherd will turn you into a dog trainer whether you like it or not. This dog has a built in desire to be continuously learning. If not provided a positive outlet this dog will decide the rules of your own home and you will have to start paying rent this first of each month. You DO NOT WANT THIS DOG AS YOUR HOA!

What sets our program apart?

We know this breed well! having built a good many of them we have the knowledge and expierence dealing with them on every level you can think of. We know how the breed was designed and have worked with many European breeders to ensure our program is alined with how the breed is meant to be. Temperament matters! First and fore most these dogs need to have an open inviting temperament. A sound mind and sound body is what makes these dogs a cut above the rest!

From personal experience I believe that the Dutch Shepherd can be a very well balanced stable wonderful dog when bred correctly. From the breedings I have done and dogs I have trained I feel confident that I have the knowledge to produce stable minded balanced dogs. With extensive pedigree research I can understand the strengths and weakness in a given pedigree and pin point what aspects of that dogs make up and strong genetic characteristics.

We are proud members of our national breed club!
