        The Wirehaired Pointing Griffon in known and characterized as the supreme gundog! The ability for the dog to be able to point, flush and retrieve game while working close with their hunting companions makes these dogs wonderful in the field. I personally believe that if you love the Labrador Retriever and the Golden Retriever with a different hair coat rather then a fur coat then this is exactly the perfect family companion! The Griffs adore children and make outstanding loyal family additions.  They are classified as a medium sized breed ranging in the 50 pound mark being no larger then 24 inches at the shoulder.  With a course "bristle" top coat and a soft under coat a experienced grooming hand is ideal to help keep this coat perfect for the hunting conditions they where designed to be in. Hand Stripping the coat is the best way to keep this coat in perfect shape.
